In 2007, the OIV adopted basic guidelines for the development of a consistent and standardised approach to traceability in the vitivinicultural sector applicable between countries. The aim is to ensure, throughout the production process, supply chain and commercial life-cycle of a product, the availability, as appropriate, of key information to the competent authorities, sector operators, distributors, retailers and consumers.
